Your Inner Genie Story

More than twenty five years ago, I awoke from a strange dream. I grabbed my journal on my bedside table and started to write down everything that I could remember. That dream always intrigued me and led me to be more curious about spirituality.

Recently, during the virus lock-down, I decided that I needed to re-evaluate my life. Decluttering was a good start. During my declutter I came across my old journals and I as read through them, I became inspired. In particular, I was fascinated and inspired with my inner genie dream.

Something about it called to me. I wanted to know where the dream could lead me. This year I felt strongly that I needed to set up a blog about the dream and all the things connected with this dream and the concepts of ‘law of attraction’ or ‘spirituality. So here is my dream the start of my spiritual journey.

The Story

Once upon a time, long, long ago …

The Source of the Universe thought hard, and from a huge ball of energy, created a Baby and saw that it was good.  Then the Source created beautiful gifts for the Baby to use to make the world a better place. These gifts would also make the baby happy and fulfilled throughout its life.

The Baby looked at the gifts and put them in its’ mouth and tried to eat them.  They did not taste very good and the baby threw them away.  The Source was upset and thought hard.

Then the Source created a Genie to look after the gifts and to offer them to the baby as it grew up and asked for them.  Source converted the gifts back into the energy they came from and put the gifts into a magical lamp. The Genie carried the lamp ready for to give the gifts to the Baby when it needed them.  

But the baby took one look at the Genie and cried.  It did not want the Genie, it wanted its mother, it wanted food.

The Genie was not happy with this rejection and the Source thought about the problem. Finally it was decided that both the Genie and the lamp of gifts would be changed into a ball of energy, hidden inside the baby, waiting for the baby to grow up and ask for the gifts. The Genie would become the Inner Genie.

“But how will I know when the baby is asking for the gifts?” asked the Inner Genie.

Source told the Inner Genie that, as energy, it would have to communicate with the baby in the language of vibration… it was very simple.  When the baby wished for one of the gifts the Inner Genie would be able to feel the vibration and understand what it wanted.

So the Inner Genie waited for a vibration.

As the Baby grew up it wished for lots of things. It was always wishing for and wanting lots of things … and it vibrated and vibrated … lots of different vibrations. The Baby grew up into a child, then a teenager, then an adult. The Baby wished for things all the time, they were not always good wishes.

The Inner Genie did its best to offer the right gifts but found that as one vibration said “Yes I want this”… another said “No I don’t, I want something else now”.  Or the Genie would hear “I want this” and then the Inner Genie would hear “but I can’t have it”… or “I want this but I don’t really deserve it”.   The Inner Genie spent a lot of time offering gifts only to find that they were resisted or ignored.   Sometimes the grown up baby would say one thing and set up a vibration, but then the Baby would do something that set up a totally different and opposite vibration.   The Baby’s wishes, and thoughts, words, feelings and deeds were all setting up different vibrations. They were never in alignment.

There were so many different vibrations that it was not clear what the baby was really wishing for.   The Inner Genie got confused and tired trying to understand all the different vibrations.  Then the Inner Genie got fed up and finally became angry…the gifts were not being appreciated and were often being ignored or refused.   The Genie started to send challenges to the Baby to test them, but the Baby failed all the challenges. Finally the Genie had had enough and went on strike and locked away the gifts in disgust.

The Source was not pleased and tried to persuade the Inner Genie to try again. The Inner Genie would not budge.

Source felt sorry for the Baby and the Inner Genie and asked “What could the Baby do to persuade the Inner Genie to change its mind?” The Inner Genie replied “stop asking for so many different things. Appreciate me more.”

The great and wise Source thought hard. Life was set up to give the Baby whatever it desired in order to lead a happy and prosperous life. Why had that become so difficult.

Finally the Source came up with a Grand Plan that would help the Baby and satisfy the Genie.

“Here is my plan”, said the Source.

“I have created a Universal Law of Vibration that will deal with most of the Baby’s vibrations. You are to attend to the vibrations that come from the Baby’s heart. These vibrations will created when the Baby creates a special wish. Once the vibration is loud and you can grant the wish. However, you can choose to wrap up the wish and disguise it as a gift of your choice. The process of unwrapping the gift will give the Baby time to appreciate the wish inside and to learn to wish for things that will bring a Happy Life.

“Yes”, said the Genie with a smile, finally satisfied with the plan, thinking of the many gifts that could be offered.

The Inner Genie was happy again and waited to be inspired by a truly beautiful harmonious vibration so that the gifts could be chosen and the wishes could be granted.

The Inner Genie waited and waited and waited ……

The Inner Genie fell asleep.

The grown-up Baby became unhappy, bored, unfulfilled.

The Source wondered if the Baby knew how to wish properly and decided to create wonderful teachers who could help the baby to learn how to communicate properly with its Inner Genie…..
